Going to camp — a welcoming environment for making friends, exploring nature and trying new activities — can be just what they need this summer. Friendship Circle of Michigan , located in West Bloomfield outside Detroit, is offering eight weeks of camp this summer. Campers will build friendships, learn critical social skills and engage in summer fun.

Each camper will begin and end their day at Friendship Circle with a daily trip to North Star Reach on an air-conditioned and movie-equipped charter bus.

Day camp at North Star Reach, located in the great outdoors, will consist of lakefront activities, swimming in the pool, arts and crafts, nature walks, and more!

Two sessions of overnight camp at North Star Reach will take place August Talisman Programs , located in Zirconia, North Carolina, offers multiple summer camps for individuals with autism, ADHD, Aspergers and other learning disabilities ages The benefits of our camping program are endless!

Campers are encouraged to try new experiences in order to gain self-confidence, increase personal independence and learn cooperation. At Camp Summit, they never turn away a camper due to the severity of a disability, or an inability to pay.

Campers may be: Physically Challenged cerebral palsy, spina bifida, paralysis, etc. They welcome children of all abilities, ages 2 and up. Campers will be placed in groups based on developmental level, needs, interests, and talents. Camp times will vary throughout the year. Camps are held 9am — 4pm, Monday to Friday. They provide a positive camp experience while sharing the good news about Jesus Christ.

During the camp experience, they focus on learning about Christ, improving social skills, boosting self esteem and confidence, and helping kids understand that their differences are neither uncommon nor debilitating.

They play with purpose: they give kids access to traditional camp activities, combine recreation with learning, and help kids find greater success and fun in daily life. Music Therapy is designed to address developmental needs such as Communication Skills, social skills, academics, behavior and emotional regulation. From age 9 up to adulthood, this Camp is ideal for campers who are physically and or mentally challenged. For year olds, Camp runs June Counsellors are paired for one-to-one attention.
